what dashes will fit?

Will a dash from 1974 or 1973 bmw 2002 fit in a 1971 bmw 2002?

Or are they the same shape?

1968-71 -- three piece dash: upper, lower and instrument binnacle

late 71-73--two piece dash: upper & lower; upper incorporates instrument binnacle

74-76--one piece dash.

They all interchange. In fact, an E-21 320 dash can be made to fit with very minor modifications...

...but...

the mounts for a 72- 73 are different than the others, so you'd have to fab

something to hold it to the car around the instruments.

there are 2- 3- piece dashes, and you can't mix and match the 2 lower parts.

the ends of the early dashes have been NLA for almost as long as the cars

have been made.
