An 8,500 miles trek photographing various car collections

My friend Dylan is an automotive photographer from South Africa. He's in the process of planning an 8,500 mile trek throughout the U.S. where he's made arrangements with various car collectors to do extensive photo shoots of their collections. Dylan isn't doing this to make any money, but instead he's volunteering his passion, time and efforts in order to help a charitable organization for children called Operation Bobbi Bear.

One of the more notorious car collections on his list is Ken Lingenfelter's collection of 150 collector cars. I just recently suggested a trip to Ed Ullom's collection in Mechanicsburg, PA. If you know of any other collections that might be worthy / willing to be photographed for a really good cause feel free to leave a comment in this thread and I'll make the suggestion to Dylan.

If you can help out in any other way, your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Below is a link to the site that Dylan has set up for his project which is called 'Roadtrip for a Reason'. If you feel that you're unable to do anything to assist Dylan, please consider sharing this thread or his website with someone who might be able to. The sharing of this information alone is a big help and a fantastic way of giving to a really, really good cause. Thanks for your time and consideration!

Man that would be a fun trip...Have him check out LeMay's in Tacoma, WA. One of my sons friends grandfather's Mr. Harold LeMay has the best collection anywhere. This IS the place to see in the northwest. No other comparison even close!

If (more like "when") your friend travels through California, he should consider the following:

Cars & Coffee in Irvine - each Saturday an interesting mix of car enthusiasts meet-up

Bimmerfest in May

Pebble Beach / Monterey Historics weekend in mid-August - this has turned into week long car event

SEMA show in Vegas - 1st week of Nov

Come to think of it - your friend could spend a full 2+ weeks in California attending shows & museums in August.

Jim Taylor outside Saratoga Springs, NY. He can be contacted through the Saratoga Auto Museum. Has 100+ vehicles, mostly Jaguars, 120s, 140s, 150s, E- types, C-type & D, all of which he drives.

He opened his garage to the attendees of the Vintage at Saratoga.

I'll second the Lane Museum in Nashville, TN. Amazing collection -the good stuff is in the basement.

Not a museum per se, but a chance to view Lothar Schuettler's "garage" collection in Maryland would be nice.
