if it's not your oil tube banjo screw? - then

it's from your CIS injected VW box-o-trash

fuel injection fittings

or how about an oil pressure gauge sender/warning switch adapter

next to the distributor

chuck it into the neighbors pool.

Don't get me wrong, I bet it would be great. I would love more help working on the 02 - or any of the other cars.

But, dang - the parts in the pool!

So far - we have:

Banjo bolts off of the cam oiler

One of the carb parts (#14)

what else?

PS - I'm looking at a '69 R69S down the street that's for sale. Any advice?

I'm a bit surprised CD didn't jump all over this, as he's one of the several of us on this board that are addicted to both two and four wheel bimmer / beemers. The R69S is a very collectible bike, but I would not buy it if you are looking for something to tour the continent on (CD may argue with me). With that said, they are beautiful bikes, and there are a handful of die-hards that show up each year at the RA and MOA rallies on them, riding them hundreds of miles to get there. The /5 ('70 to '73) is the first BMW bike that blended newer technology (and colors), and are a bit more reliable, and therefore I would equate (probably the /6 too) to the two wheel version of the 2002. If you're looking for something to restore and ride around town, buy it! They are a joy to work on. There are numerous resources on the net for R bikes. My favorite site is the boxerworks forum, as several of the R bike gurus frequent the site.

Craig Veckorick is dedicated to the earlier Beemers. His site: http://www.benchmarkworks.com/

Re-psycle is based in the town I live, and they have many rare used parts:

Finally, Duane Ausherman's site holds a wealth of knowledge for R bikes. He is one of the R bike gurus, and owned a dealership in years past. Anyone that has an R25 in their living room can’t be all that bad.

Thanks. I've been researching airheads for a year or so now. Nope - no world tours. Probably take it apart first - play with the bits for awhile, refresh it and put it back together.

They are pretty.

ding ding, we have a weener!

It's too big for the cam lube tube

(unless you have tiny fingers)

but there's an adaptor for the oil pressure sender

that uses a banjo bolt and a big block of brass.

Measure that sucker- betcha it's 12x1.5mm, (or whatever the oil pressure

sender is on your car)
