How vital/important is the board that fits into the cavity of the rear of the roof - looks like the only real function is to hold the dome light. If I go w/out, what's the downside?

Further, there are a couple of what looks like to be insulating pads for the front, left and right side of the interior of the roof -- I don't have these pieces and again, can I work w/out them as RealOEM says they are no longer in stock.

Right. I've been following his and anothers post in order to work through the assembly and was looking at home-made board.

I just don't see what it adds to the structural/integrity/function of the sunroof. As I'm not mounting a dome light there, then what's the downside of not having it?
