Side marker lamps and license plate lights

Howdy everyone - just bought my first '02 - a 1974 in Sahara that is 100% original. I'm the 2nd owner!

The car hasn't been driven since 06 - at least that's the last time it was registered.

Since it runs OK, and most of the mechanics work, I figured I'd try to get it to pass inspection.

The only thing that isn't are the rear license plate lamps and marker lights. According to the decal under the hood they are on the same circuit as the horn (which works). Since my Manual is still on order from Amazon, and I don't have a wiring diagram, I thought I'd ask here.

Are all the bulbs wired in series? So when one goes out the all go dark? That's how it looks to me from just poking around. But I thought I'd ask first.

Someone else might chime in and be a little more descriptive but no they don't all go out if one does. You might want

To check the bulb connections and also the ground back there.

They are not wired in series. They extend from the wiring harness for the taillights located under the trunk floor.

Not sure on a 74 but they may share the same ground. Touch one of the lamps grounds to a known good ground with a piece of wire and see if you get lights.

Yes, only the rear side marker lamps.

Problem solved. Fuse #7 (or 6) was loose, and had bad contacts. Cleaned it up, and am now ready for inspection. Thanks all.
