reusing "new" windshield gasket

i got a crack in my 2-year old pilkington windshield, and need to replace it with a used one. the gasket still looks and feels like new (same age as the glass), can glass shops R/R the windshield without cutting the gasket? it would be great if i could save the $100 or whatever it costs for a new gasket.

If they remove the lockstrip, the windshield should come out nice and easy. You might buy a new lockstrip just in case.

youll know. If it feels soft and pliable youre fine. I would reuse a 2 year old gasket for sure
