Hello everyone,I'm looking for 2002tii conv. and i prefer the car in orange and manual. Thanks for help..if you sale it or know the link what evern .. please send to me details...Thank you all..

Boney

There were no Tii convertibles from the factory. I'm no cabrio expert, but I believe they were only the 1600 model and pre-1970. The Tii (in the US) is '72-74 and only came manual trans.

This just from nosing around for a while now, I could be wrong.

2002 newbie, and dead serious about it.

Jason is correct. There were also about 200 voll cabrios produced in 1971. We were fortunate enough to have both examples of a 1600 and a 2002 voll cabrio at V&V last weekend.

Historical Background:

The BMW 1600 (technically, the 1600-2, to distinguish the body from the Neue Klasse 1600) and the subsequent 2002 cabriolets, also know as voll-cabrios (full convertibles), were designed and hand-built by Baur in Stuttgart under BMW’s strict supervision.

The body was reinforced at several places to minimize the body flex caused by the absence of the roof structure. Mechanically, the cabriolets are identical to the sedan models. Cabriolets could be ordered in several colors, some of which were not available on any other BMW. Leather interior was an option as well. Some of the interior parts were cabrio-specific, such as the lower seats, the rear view mirror, the sun visors and the interior light.

The 2002 voll cabrio was replaced by the “Targa” in 1971 due to safety concerns.

Here is a picture of the 1600 at V&V:

There was a yellow car from Texas, NE1 got the link.

It was a euro car that had a tii motor.

It had rusted fenders that where painted over, but the PO spent a ton of money on it.

I also remember that car - I think it was listed on ebay and there was a thread discussing it. Here are a few pictures I took of a beautiful condor yellow BMW 2002 voll cabrio that was at V&V last weekend (1 of 200 made):

Here is the ended listing. I had a 1600 cab and a Lumma at the same time. The cab lives in WI and the Lumma lives in Va. I loved the Lumma because I drove it without worrying about it. I had another 02 that I didn't drive for the same reason.

Boney - I suggest you buy this book and educate yourself a bit about the various BMW models before deciding what it is that you would like to purchase, what is available, and how to distinguish the various models.

The book is available for $20 on Amazon.com and I am sure that Amazon ships to Hong Kong. If not, I can help you out.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
