I am hoping to keep my 1976 2002 covered indoors at all times. What type of cover/material is the best to use?

My car lived outside for ~2 years before I was able to move to a house with a garage. I'll double check when I get home but I'm fairly certain the cover was from:
The covered worked well enough, kept the sun off of it in summer and the rain off in winter. This is in California as well so sun was definitely my main concern.
Did you get a chance to confirm the cover? I am hoping to buy soon. Thanks!

Looks like http://www.furiousmethod.com/ is a price comparison tool. Enter part number: 36131114180 to test it out. Pretty nifty.

Put your part # into one of the search tools to compare pricing:
Holy hell http://www.furiousmethod.com/ just opened up like 15 browser tabs for me. Neat service though.

Some things in life are precious and irreplaceable like my 02.
It would break my heart and I would sell her to a good home before she lives outside.
I am talking 24/48hrs at a time. My house does not have a garage and I live 25mins from temp controlled garage where it will be kept. Open to recommendations.

Thanks. Know of anywhere in the US perhaps?

I am looking for the below center caps for my wheels and wondering who to buy from. Does anyone know a reputable source?
Emblem and Cap part number: 36131114180
Update: the cheapest source I've been able to find so far has been: https://www.atlantabmwparts.com/oem-parts/bmw-hub-cap-36131114180

Update: discussed with a luxury garage owner who suggested
- carcovers.com
- covercraft.com
- carcoversusa.com

Anyone have a reputable brand of recommendation? While my 2002 will be largely kept in temp controlled garage, it will also be kept outside at times and I would like to cover it with a durable cover.

@MikeinNC Looks good. Where did you find the 5.5 x 14 NK wheels? Can't find them anywhere.
-
Agreed and thanks ?

OK, so they stick on with an adhesive. Do these look genuine? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-wheel-cap-emblem-36131181082

Does anyone know if they are supposed to stick on with an adhesive or bolt on in some way?
cc @resra -
Ok they were mistaken. Thanks for clarifying @resra

Thanks @resra. I actually called Ireland Engineering and they had some but at 82mm in diameter. Too large?

Hi everyone, the center BMW badges on my stock 1976 2002 rims are faded. Does any one know where I can find quality ones to replace?
Thanks

@HarryBMW are u using diving board bumpers or going for the Euro Look
You may have been looking at too many ROW 1502 brochures that show 1502 SpongeBobs with dog dish-tyle hub caps. I have to agree it's a great look, however not EZ 2 find
In My Humble Opinion, that wheel combo would look wrong in my eyes if you kept the stock North American specification big bumpers. How about some Bottle Caps? Or Bottle Tops? Or some Roundie Factory Alloys still available new (if they are in your budget)????
I actually got the original bumpers taken in close to the body but did not remove them. So while they’re not “diving boards”, they aren’t euro style replacements either.
I agree that the diving boards with the dish rims would look very odd. I decided to go with the stock 76 rims. Having them sand blasted and powder coated/painted to look like new. Now I just need the center BMW badge for each rim. My originals are faded.
Could you link me to the Roundie example you’re referring to?

Correct. I am looking for knob @John_in_VA

Was actually just on your website @jireland2002 but couldn't find them. Care to share a link? Thanks in advance.
Update: found the link but says you are out of stock? I am looking for Mahogany.

Noted, thanks. @Oldtimerfahrer

I have desperately been looking for dish-style rims in good condition like the ones you see on 1600's, but have not been able to find them. While I do not like the original 1976 2002 rims or Alpina racing rims, I am hoping to find something that suits the car and looks good.
At this time I am uncertain what to look for. So, my question is: what kind of vintage rims/hubcaps could I look to and where could I find them?

Hi everyone, I am hoping to get a gear shifter for a 1976 2002. I am open to the original style or another type of vintage looking BMW shifter. Does anyone know where I can go to find one?
-
@Schnellvintage thanks! Know what year? Sorry for the pesky questions.

Thanks for your replies @Conserv and @wegweiser. They seem difficult to find and prone to damage, neither of which are ideal. What do you know about the below option? I might go this route if I can find them:
How many RPMs in what gear?
in BMW 2002 and other '02

Hi all, I inherited and fully restored my father's 1976 2002 four speed. Is there a rule of thumb as to what gear I should be in as it relates to RPMs? I want to make sure I don't wear out the gear box being an unexperienced (but learning!) driver.
Thanks
