  1. No way I'd part with my '74Tii for that, either. To quote "O, Brother Where Art Thou?" - I'm with you fellers.
  2. Later Tii models did. They had either 121 or E12, with 10:1, 9.5:1, or 9.0:1 pistons, depending upon year and US/RoW.
  3. Those are 192s. The measurement the model number is referring to includes the chrome bezel around the light.
  4. I'll let it slide... just this once. I totally understand the "distraction" of the '02. I have the same problem!
  5. Off topic, but close to my heart: stop putting Webers on your 912s! Back to your regularly scheduled program.
  6. There are a few different reasons why the float level must be right, and they're all to do with how the main circuit works. If it's too high, it'll overflow and bog the engine, if it's too low, it will feed the idle circuit, but starve the main. The rule of thumb I was taught is 1/16" change in float level is ~1 jet size either way.
  7. Oh, and perhaps an aluminum accelerator pedal that uses the existing nubs and doesn't fall off.
  8. Those turn signals look fantastic. Other parts perhaps worth manufacturing which are similar to those escutcheons: door/window handles (permanent, inlayed black nylon, rather than the original snap-on style), ashtrays/panels, aluminum switch knobs, three-gauge dash pods. Also, a gimme: the NLA "bow" behind a Tii clock. Easy, but maybe too limited to be worthwhile?
  9. I was providing options for the OP to consider based on price and availability, not intending to derail their troubleshooting with oil debates (that's why we have BITOG).
  10. re: 2) I prefer either Valvoline VR-1 or Brad Penn, both in 20W50.
  11. Wow. With green stitching, those would look fantastic in my leaf green P-car. Add the E911SR to the list of places to sell them. Good luck!
  12. That 36 seemed right for your engine - sounds like others around here feel the same. 32 is very small for a 45 DCOE.
  13. I don't have a lot of experience with carb'd BMWs (only Porsches). That said, you want to start with the size of the venturi (Weber calls them "chokes") you're using in the 45, rather than the size of the throttle body. With some back of the envelope math, you probably want to be using about a 36mm venturi on a 2100cc 4 cyl. @ ~6-6.5k RPM. Maybe a 38. The 38/38 doesn't have interchangable venturis - one less thing to think about, but also one less thing to fine tune. It's probably plenty of carb (kbmb02's cars all seemed to run fine on them at Sonoma ), but you've already got a 45 in-hand.
  14. I bought one of those return pipes for a little over $130 from BMW last year. They're out there.
  15. I like the plaid a lot. Very nice!
  16. Looking for a late model wiper motor - for a '74. If the motor and brushes are in good condition, I can work with a broken gear box. I'll be in Brisbane for the swap meet in May, if that's easier than shipping. Thanks.
