  1. Thanks everyone for the input. I've seen a demo on filling moulding holes done with a type of foil backing to prevent the lead from dripping out the back. Anyone in San Diego have a junk panel for me to practice on? Please let me know I'd be happy to come and pick it up.
  2. LOL w my OCD I'll probably by raspmonkeying till the cows come home. Also Nathan brought up a good point about expansion/contraction; I figure you're going to experience that with whatever type of material you use bondo vs. Lead (or lead-less) solder. I plan of having the rear signal holes welded, my question is what are the steps involved in grinding down the seam, getting everything to blend?
  3. Give Jason Rose of Heritage Motorsports a call. He's been a great help to me with my long distance purchase 4045768801. Tell him Khai sent you. He's hooked w/ a transport company they have their own fleet DAS autoshipping and can take care of all the little details for ya PPI and all.
  4. Hey you guys. Yep its me again, boy am I tired from running around doing all things 02 related; its all I can think about these day. My next project is to try and cover up the lower moulding holes and the rear signal light holes. Anyone experienced w/ the Lead soldering? Theres a product put out by Eastwood that's lead free and supposedly easier to work with. My question is what grit of sand paper should you proceed with after you're done using the rasp and file? Can you achieve a final finish without using the bondo or body filler? Are there any tips/tricks or pitfalls to watch out for. Thanks for the help.

  9. I'm a total newbie but decent with my hands, have some experience with motorcycles (trackday junky) but willing to help out and get some first hand experience. I should have my car by then so count me in, if you'd have me. Maybe I can get Ray Ray to come.

  17. Hi everyone, it's official, I'm an 02 owner. After months of lurking and pestering the good folks on this forum and running every which way, chasing down all kinds of leads, I finally bought my very first 02 today. It's 90 percent complete resto-mod needs carpet and paint. Livy did an amazing job restoring it and passed it on to yours truly to finish. I can't wait to post some pics once its done. Presently Jason Rose, aka Jbird of Heritage Motorsports has my baby and she should be arriving here in two weeks. I'll keep you guys, for anyone ' interested of course, posted of my progress. What an exhaust and exciting two days of traveling.
  18. Looking to purchase EURO (Italian) turn signals. Can't seem to locate em anywhere. Willing to pay top dollar. Let me know.
  19. Seems like wool is not so popular, heh? OK how's about the velvety stuff they use on modern cars?
  20. Yep totally bitten by the 02 bug. Being a total newbie, I think I should first get a copy of the service manual for my 74. Anyone in the San Diego area have a copy lying around they'd like to share? Beer, sandwiches, cash, etc. 646 246 9679. Thanks.
  21. World uphostery sucks for customer service. No they won't custom make a wool headliner. Guess I've narrowed it down to Blunt or Goliner. Now has anyone worked with the velvet headliner in their 02. I figure it's stretchy and would be a much easier install using 3M spray adhesive. I found a supplier Keyston Bros on Aero drive. Will report back to see what I find.
  22. If anyone has a source for wool headliner, I'd appreciate a contact number. Anyone work with GOLiner Headliner products? Whats the quality compared to the Blunt, and World, etc.
