  5. Anyone in the San Diego area working on their 02 in need of some assistance? I'm a total newbie in need of some good old fashion experience so when mine arrives I don't make a total mess of things. Let me know 646 246 9679.
  6. Looking for the rating system for suppliers of interiors and carpet kits in terms of quality of material and craftsmanship? Thanks.
  7. LOL. There's something rotten in the state of Denmark.
  8. He's definitely good people. Gave me a great PPI and his invaluable advice on my prospective purchase. Also took the time out to do a side by side comparison. How cool is that.

  12. I've worked with a product similar to DYNAMAT and it worked pretty well. I wonder if anyone has worked w/ the spray on type of sound deadening product either by itself or in conjunction w/ something else. Thanks.
  13. Thanks everyone, I'm going to go the AAA route; seems like membership has its privileges : )
  14. Anyone know a Levi Pippy in Columbus GA? Just trying to get some solid info on him and his build.
  15. GREETINGS I was wondering if there were any hiccups in registering an 02 with s s14 conversion with California DMV. Its a 71 so smog exempt, but as far as visuals and original parts mainly engine number, will they give me any trouble?
  16. Please excuse my ignorance: I was told that the car that I'm interested in has some minor trans seepage due to a worn or damaged O ring. Fixing the problem would involve removing exhaust, drive shaft and guibo. YOur input on cost of labor as O ring is a $6 part. What should I look for? Is this a sign of something more major? Thanks.
  17. Hello I'm happy to report that I've found my Tii in Columbus, GA and would love to have a second pair of eyes with me. If you have the time to spare, please let me know if you'd like to join me to the seller's place to go over the car during weekend of March 17-18. Levi tells me that he has access to a hobby shop at his military post where we can view and test drive the car. My number is 646 246 9679; feel free to call me. Many thanks, Khai.
  18. So far two hits . Why couldn't they be in Cali?
  19. You better not lay your fingers on my 02; the one with the flares? LOL. Yeah thats a nice looking car. I was gonna take a trip to see it but they are out till Monday. Ill let you know if I decide to go there. You local, maybe we can meet there and check them out together. Thats if my lead doesn't pan out.
  20. Sorry for the delay. Car is located in Tallahassee, Florida. Autowerks is gonna do the PPI for me. Thanks for the offer.
  21. Greetings, I'm looking to buy a nicely sorted M20 or S14 conversion. Please let me know of any leads. Thanks. 646 246 9679.
  22. No worries I have been looking for a decent starter car with the intent of turning it into the white example that you see now. Not really into keeping it original, rather building a nice classic sleeper; hence my jumping around from one hit to the next. I had decided on these two cars previously but was talked out of them and it seems like after all this searching, I'm back to square one; so I'm sticking to my guns and gonna chose one of the two. Just trying to decide which is better. As far as being mechanically inclined, I'm a motorcycle track day guy, worked on bikes mostly. I'm very decent with my hands so I guess with the right manual and guidance, I can tackle the medium to the simple jobs.
  23. Im just asking because a little birdie told me that SC with carb set-up can be unreliable and suggested going the FI route altogether; in short pick a different car which leads me into: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,0/page,viewtopic/t,368829/ Would this be a more efficient/cost effective choice? I would like to redo interiors, oem hood reinstalled w/ some fabrication, and finally paint.
