  1. Gentlemen, anyone available to diagnose my lighting situation so I can register this car here. The previous owner was kind enought to lend me his plates but now wants them back. PLEASE PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Im in North Park San Diego. 646 246 9679.
  2. That sounds promising. What dual element bulb did you get; specs? Which is the brighter source, (BROWN) running light or (BLUE) hazards? Just want to point out that the rear signal worked previously without front signal lights being installed. Could it be a weak battery cuz the battery is going I've got it on a trickle charger, but I going to get the yellow boat battery.
  3. Sorry Louis for hijacking your thread; I'm going through a similar situation. I found the other wire (BROWN) intended for the side marker. Now when I connect the "running light" BROWN wire to the push pin connector on the euro light it comes on with the headlights. On the opposite side I have the BLUE wire connected and it comes on, blinking with the Hazard but my flashers are not working; neither Front or Rear. The rear blinkers worked previously. Retracing my steps, only difference is the front signal lights were not installed when the rear blinkers worked. Could it be my blinker switch or blinker relay? How do I go about checking. Also now when I touch the key to the ignition, car makes this electronic high E sound. Any ideas. My goal right now is to have lights work so I can register this darn F ing car. Man I'm really sucking right now. Please hellllllpppppp : )
  4. PO left me with one wire to connect to the turn signal, its light blue. How do I check to see if theres a current and whats the right voltage? Im
  5. Its called sushi salmon lol. I'd like to go black or white.
  6. I would appreciate if someone would lend me a helping hand on this last leg of this epic restoration. I believe I'm the third in line of this project. Let me know if I can stop by and pick your brains. Im in San Diego. Thanks, Khai
  7. Congrats looks like it's in good hands. What's the cost estimate. I need final block and paint.
  8. Question: My blinkers worked yesterday when I picked up the car, then I changed out the ignition wires, tightened the slack on my throttle cable, put back the screw holding down my drivers seat, lube the accelerator pedal, and tried installing front turn signals (brand new). Now my blinkers don't work at all. hi/lo, brake/reverse work. any ideas?
  9. Lol. No it needs final block and paint. I'm trying to choose between white or black. Fully shaved.
  10. The previous owner left me with one blue wire with a soldered end. I attached this into the spring loaded push pin connector on the euro signals. Lights don't come on. Is there a correct orientation to how the light bulb-particularly the two raised dots on the metal part of the bulb-sits in the housing. Front headlights work low/hi, brake light works, and reverse works. Forgot to mention these are euro lights.
  11. Hi I'm trying to install my euro signals, they don't work at all. There's only one wire (blue) with a soldered end that goes into the spring loaded push pin connector. How did you connect the light bulb? I had to open the two tips a little to get the buld in. Is there a particular orientation that the bulb has to sit. There are two tiny raised dots on the side of my bulb, did you have to make sure they go underneath the flanges? Thanks.
  12. Greetings and salutations, Khai in San Diego, I am now the proud owner of a 2002 tii M2 conversion. She arrived today and already I am filled with a sense of excitement, joy, regret, and trepidation. Lets just say that within the first few hours of ownership, I've had to struggle to keep my wits about me and resist the urge to go crying to my wife. Here's to many more sleepless nights.
  13. Anyone with short rear bumper to fit my 74 tii? Let me know please. Thanks.
  14. Can you provide an update on what those wires were and the final fix. Pics would be appreciated.
  15. I'd love to try welding, but its like a 700 dollar investment at the end of the day for welder/gas/mask/gloves and everything else. I've got a hit on a craigslist welder; I'll report back in case someone is interested in the San Diego area.
  16. My car doesn't have turn signals, just wondering how they install. I forgot to look for the terminal ends on the wires to see how the connection is made. I'm picking up the car tomorrow so I'll have a better idea; I figure I'd ask in the meantime. Thanks.
  17. Well car is finally in transit should hopefully be here next Tuesday. I would like to fill in the rear signal light cutouts along with trim moulding holes. Just wondering whats the best way to do this? I'm looking into DIY soldering or it may be much easier to just Bondo? The soldering seems to be better but way more involved and would also need welding to cover the larger holes. Bondo is just so easy breezy. But even if I went to a body shop, wouldn't they just use a final coat of body filler anyways? Also anyone know a good body/paint shop in San Diego? Thanks, Khai.
  18. Thanks everyone, heading to the scrap yard.
  19. Hey Paul nice job with that fender. I'm gonna try to do some welding and soldering work, can you describe in detail how you got the final pre paint finish; like what type of sander you used, grit grade pregression, and type/brand of grinding/polishing discs. Thanks. Khai
  20. Hi yall I wanna try my hand at mig welding and soldering, anyone with a scrap panel or door in San Diego that they wann donate? Let me know 646 246 9679. Thanks. Khai
  21. Congrats on your new ride. I saw your post and we bought our car at about the same time and mine is just getting loaded in a day or two. I'm distracting myself by looking at parts upgrades I can buy
