    So, I purchased an 83' E21 parts car for use in upgrading my 74' 2002. In particular, the owner told me the rear brakes were upgraded to disc with Volvo calipers...which would be nice to have on the 02. I took the wheels off today and found a rear disc/drum parking brake set up. From what I understand, this setup is from a 323i. What I don't know is...will it still work on my 74' 2002 rear end? The trailing arms look like 323's also....I presume this is not common? Any thoughts? Thanks, Mike

    I thought it would be an easy day, installing a Hot Spark electronic ignition in my 74 02'. I had a brain lapse and did not remove the distributor at TDC...I had a few other chores to get done, and I was too hasty. For the record, I am not a mechanic. The install went fine, but after lining up the crank pulley to the pointer and setting the rotor in its proper place...I tried to start the car. No go, I moved the distributor in both directions...nothing. It cranks, sputters a bit...but no ignition. Very frustrated. Any suggestions? Thanks, Mike

    I recently purchased a 1974 Chamonix(oops) White 2002 Auto...with a 5 speed in the trunk:) I will be converting soon. To my wife's dismay, I also bought a 1983 E21 parts/shell car. It has the "is" leather wrapped steering wheel, upgraded read disk brakes, 390:1 open diff, cv joints...all to upgrade my 02'. My question is...what other parts are swappable? The engine is gone and I already have a 320i radiator, so...sway bars, wiper stalk, anything?? This is my first of probably many, many posts. Thanks in advance for any help. Mike
