  1. Is this the '70 bristol 2002 that was up for sale over two years, owned by a BMW car saleman Eddy? If so, I looked at it a while back, but thought his asking price of 8K was too high. He bought a couple of years ago from the original owner for around $3,500, kept it a couple of years (no paperwork, records, ect), then was trying to flip it for the price quoted. The exterior had been painted alright years ago and he touted the "superior" job that excluded the engine bay as well as the trunk. Interior needed refurbishing and engine was tired. T.R.
  2. Thanks for the reply. Hope to see your 02 as well someday. Regards, T.R.
  3. Spotted a nice colorado 02 with CA blue plates around 8am this morning heading up Topanga Canyon Rd. in Woodland Hills. Tried to catch up, but was late for work and needed to make my turn away. Anyone here own this car? I've been looking for a nice one in this color! T.R.

  5. Hello Stu, Do you have any info on the mint grun 02 for sale seen in the pics? Thanks. T.R.
  6. Hello Ben, I unplugged the cold start lead today, but it still stalled. I guess the next project will be to try replacing the electric fuel pump with a nos one on hand. Thanks for the input. T.R.
  7. I sure hope to get the stalling issue figured out, but am not convinced the pump is the culprit. The rebuild option seems too expensive to not be certain.
  8. Hello Shen, It stalls as well with parking brake alone, but does not stall with either brake going in reverse. Could this therefore still be a bad vacuum non-return valve? Does this still sound like a Kugelfischer problem?
  9. Thanks for the input Bill. I agree that Jack is a super tii mechanic. He is just not confident that the problem is truly from the pump. He admits to being stumped so far.
  10. Thanks for the help Delk. Good to hear from a fellow tii touring owner. T.R.
  11. Plastic tube runners were replaced with metal ones. Thanks. T.R.
  12. The engine and other mechanicals were all done by Jack Fahuna at Pro BMW in Van Nuys, CA. He has had the car several times after the initial engine rebuild, but has been unable to diagnose the problem. It sure would suck big time for me if I went to the expense of rebuilding the pump with subsequent installation, adjustments, ect only to discover it was not the problem afterall. The whole thing has been quite frustrating after spending thousands of dollars to date. Any additional advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. T.R.
  13. My '72 tii touring received a complete engine rebuild last year. It now has an E12 head (stock block switched from 121 head), 9.5 Mahle pistons, stock cam. Engine was even balanced. Upon driving the car, it began to surge, hesitate, ect. It finally just kept stalling. It was felt to be a bad condensor. My mechanic made some adjustments to the pump as well to control the surging at idle that was then found to occur after condensor replacement. The car runs great when cold, but has a problem when warm. It stalls dead when it comes to a sudden stop going forward (even with parking break), but does not stall upon reverse stop. It does not stall with a slow gradual stop. Other than this, it pulls strong and revs well. My mechanic is unable to diagnose the problem after several attempts and feels it might be something internal with the Kugelfischer. Any help appreciated. T.R.
  14. It seems like the Kugelfischer pump on my tii may need a rebuild. I understand there are a few rebuilders out there and wonder if members would comment on individual experiences with outcome. Ideally, I would like to obtain one already done and send mine as a core to the rebuilder. Thanks in advance. T.R. '72 2000tii touring polaris
  15. Nice pics as usual Steve. Your 1802 touring looked even better in person! Will you be attending the Turkey Run this Sunday morning as well? Regards, T.R. Stephenson '72 2000tii touring polaris mit Sport Paket
  16. Thanks for the pics Steve. Your 1802 touring is incredibly clean and straight. I enjoyed looking at its nose in my rear view mirror doing about 100mph on the straight! Met some good people as well. Count me in for next time. T.R. '72 2000tii touring polaris mit "Sport Paket"
  17. A rust free blue plate CA 02 belongs on the Left Coast. T.R.
  18. Just ordered some new rocker panel trim moldings for my touring. Would someone please let me know if the rubber strip gaskets that get placed along the top length of the molding require an adhesive? If so, which brand is recommended? Thanks in advance. T.R.
  19. Thanks for the interest, but seats will stay with the car. I have only seen two other tii tourings with the factory Sport Package. One is an inka owned by the same family since new in Switzerland. Board members name is "Swiss02". 20. Thanks for the remarks. I feel pretty lucky to have found this car and still pinch myself in disbelief. Although challenging, it is very possible to locate a clean touring. Good luck.
