  1. Put the finishing touches on my 5 speed swap. Now that it’s done, it wasn’t too painful.😉
  2. Momo Hub Adapter and/or Horn Button for 2002 of course. Thanks!
  3. Thanks! I was asking for a friend who has a 76 with a rotary compressor and was not sure if it had been upgrade by a PO. Obviously it has. I know that e9s and e3s had York style until 73 then went to Bosch rotary compressors sometime in the 74 models.
  4. Or were the York piston types used through 1976? Thanks
  5. Reminds my of a line from Millers Crossing. One of my favorite movies. Both my e9 5speed (11 years ago) and 2002 (IE) 5 speed platform dangle. No complaints.
  6. As I’m buttoning up my 5 speed swap and installing a new leather shifter boot. I’m wondering what the collar on the shifter in the picture below is for? It came with the IE kit I bought from a forum member. It’s got a 4mm allen screw to hold it in place. No mention of it in the IE instructions but it’s in a photo of the shifter plate mounted on the trans. Don’t know what purpose it serves for or where to install it. I’m leaning toward not using it at all. Photo from the IE instructions:
  7. Yeah top right bled as normal. Will be installing new wheels and tires soon. That will give me opportunity to look into it further. I’ll disconnect the line at the master to see if the issue is in there. Then I’ll check that line to the caliper.
  8. Awful. It happens far too often. I just spent many hours under my 02 over the last two months competing a 5 speed installation. I used SIX jack stands to secure the car.
  9. While finishing up my 5speed swap I decided to bleed the brakes along with the new clutch master & slave. I’m no stranger to this job, done it many times on many cars. I use the Motive pressure bleeder. No issues until I got to the left front caliper. Could not get any fluid from the top bleeder. Even after removing the bleed screw, nothing. The other two bleeders on that caliper bled just fine. Calipers were replaced 5 years ago, flex lines replaced at the same time by PO. MC is less than two years old. Is one of the two lines into the caliper clogged? Which one should I check?
  10. Completed my 5 speed swap. Took it out for a test drive, no strange noises, shifts great though all gears. Could not have done it without this forum. Many of the parts needed purchased from the classified section and the search option was used countless times. Thanks to those of you who had posted on the topic in the past for your contribution. It’s good to know that your post keep on giving.
  11. FS: I have a brand new LUK clutch kit that I purchased about 6 years ago for an 1982 m10 e21. Never ended up using it. Still in its shrink wrap in the original box. Part number 03002 $95 plus actual shipping. !
  12. 75 foot lbs and blue Locktite just for peace of mind.
  13. Pick up resurfaced flywheel today. 🙂 See before and after photos. Waiting for new flywheel bolts to arrive.
  14. Yep. It had never been cut before. Searched for the necessary specs and dropped it at the machine shop today. Will pick it up Monday. Thanks!
  15. I thought so. I’m going with the 228mm clutch, I’ve already purchased the pressure plate and disk. I was planning on resurfacing my pressure plate. On to plan B.
  16. In process of a 5 speed swap on my 73. Upon close inspection of my flywheel mating surface is not only scored but is worn below the outer area where the pressure plate mounts. My understanding is the disk mating surface should be slightly higher that the outer edge of the flywheel. Am I wasting time trying to resurface? Is the lighten aluminum flywheel from Bluntech my best option? Thanks!
  17. I shipped Pete a G245 of unknown condition in December. He opened it up gave it a clean bill of health sealed it and shipped it back. He had it in house less than a week. He told me at the time he was “retiring” to Montana in May. So that’s probably what’s going on. Good guy. I hope he continues working, not many guys around who work on these old transmissions.
  18. wasn’t paying attention. PM sent 🙂
  19. Looking for a solid rebuildable manual pedal box. Mine has a rust hole in the bottom. So surface rust is acceptable bot not rust through. Thanks
  20. New reprinted 72/73 Owners manual. Purchased from Coupeking 4 years ago. Never used in car like new condition. Also an original 72/72 US Version Supplement. Very good condition for its age. Some light staining on cover but no rips or tears. Complete and intact. Selling as a set. $75 shipped in the US in the US.
