what is your idle rpm?

I used to own 1660237 - sadly the only thing left is the manual and service book from the glove box. she met an early demise in 1973 with me at the wheel. I remember the night well.

somewhere in my late night travels around the internet or possibly on this site, I saw a picture of rear shoulder belts where the retractors etc were mounted under the rear deck. If I recall they were in the out board positions.
Was it all a dream?

i purchased either the same unit or one very similar a few years ago. It looked great but the sound at higher volumes distorted and of course our cars need higher volume

at the least small bumpers on my 74 - from there, possibly carpet and additional sound deadening - after that it will be all about the paint. she looks good now but.................. you know what I mean - it is truly an illness - too bad Obamacare won't cover it

in 1973 i was in need of a car and living in Boston at the time and I was very aware of the 2002. I ended up buying a 68 from a priest in Portland Maine, that in itself is a great story. I did not have the car too long, it was hit twice by two different yound ladies that were both DUI at the time. Neither were arrested but the second accident was the end of the 02. She was in great shape and I thoroughly enjoyed her. After a few Porsches (356 cabriolet, 912 and a 911), a Peugot, vega etc, I found my way back to BMW and over the course of a few years, three E28's - wonderful cars in the 80's. From there it was Volvos and Suburbans (yuk) as the kids grew up. About four years ago, I was bit by the 02 bug and now have a 74tii - purchased via a member here. It has been great fun sorting her out and making her mine.

We were at the Bavauto fall show and shine a few years ago when I asked Pat "what the heck is that" when he opened his trunk - the rest is history. Pat is a very clever guy, I am sure he will chime in.

big storm for tomorrow so I also tucked my car away. If the weather breaks she will be back out but they spread salt last night like it was free. Lots of projects scheduled, already planning my spring trips. I love the 4 seasons but I don't like putting the tii away.
The good news is my other love is my 46 Willys jeep, fully restored by me about 8 years ago and now sports a plow all ready to go.

Hi Rey
do you have the conversion kits available?
thanks

I did this last winter - the first door was a huge pain, the other took 1/4 the time. I ran the wires from the door through the jamb and into the interior through a hole made by a former owner for door speakers. It appears I used the same kit you are contemplating. I placed my switches in the center console. I did not cut my door panels for the kit covers, instead I made a simple cover for the window crank that can be easily converted back. After I fininshed I said never again it wasn't worth the effort, then I realized I would never have to do it again. After the first week, I also realized it was a great upgrade, I thoroughly enjoy having power windows. being able to adjust the passenger window while shooting down the highway is great. If you want you can PM me your email address and I will send you a pic of the units installed in my door. the unit leave a very slight bulge in the door panel
hey, I am 62, posting pics is still a mystery. driving my 46 willys jeep or my 74 tii is pure fun

it was a great day - lots of 02's and plenty of 02 conversation - not sure how it can be topped in the spring but I am sure looking forward to it

At the Bavauto show last Sunday, Pat from Quebec mentioned to me that he rebuilt one for a friend - hopefully he is watching this post. He is one clever guy

Hi Pat
great seeing you at the show. Your "turbo" looks like a lot of fun - glad all of you made the trip - that was a long ride for your son!

a 45 mile range and a top speed of 85 - no thanks
the next 20 years should be very interesting as the continued imrovements in technology should give us many more options to keep driving

I walked into a deal on a set of the Coker XAS's through work. After one year and approx 5k miles, they show no appreciable wear. For my needs, the tires perform very well and I have a heavy foot. The only complaint I have with them is that they are noisy. The first few months with them gave me second thoughts but they have settled in now. I would buy them again if the deal was the same.

my 02 came with a radio, speakers cut into the rear deck and an amp under the back seat but none of it worked. I put in a sony radio that has bluetooth and new speakers in the rear plus speakers up under the dash. All higher end stuff but not crazy. I love streaming Jerry Garcia via Pandora to my radio. If I want the sound of my tii chugging along or my music, I have a choice. For me, I had to have my tunes

where are you located? If you are on the left coast or close to Arizona, I would suggest Craigslist for options. You may find that if you sell your car or part it out and buy one with only a few body and mechanical issues, you will be happier in the long run.
of course if you are attached to your 73, all bets are off.
