wow! - glad I don't live in Boston - check out the receipts on this listing - then look at the ignition wires, I guess when they replaced the plugs they felt the wires were all OK

possible quick tip
the splines on both ends of my unit needed light sanding to fit into both the steering box and for the wheel to slide on. took me awhile to sort that out.
good luck

do I dare answer? not sure why someone feels the need to place in their post a satirical smiley face. if you use the search function you will have a better understanding of why I installed one and perhaps enough information for your needs.
pm me if you need any additional info

I will be travelling to Atlanta in about a month so I started looking online to see what might pop up. I found a 74 2002 (looks like a 73 at least on the front end) and I noticed the dash, knobs etc. Thought others might enjoy seeing something different as well. Whichever owner did it, it must have taken some effort. Not saying I like or dislike it, just passing it along.
check out the side louvers as well

it has been at least ten years since I had my Willys Jeep painted with Imron paint - it looks the same today as it did when it was done. The jeep has plowed snow for the past ten years and is a summer cruiser. Not many folks paint with it because of the hazards associated with it but it is tough as nails and produces a deep shine

the KF pump is like having another engine under the hood. it is great fun figuring out how to tune it to your car. No plugs or points but you have linkages and adjustments that all play a role. It is very basic once you understand what impacts what. As stated above an O2 sensor is very helpful as you navigate your way. There is plenty to read on the FAQ and elsewhere, I read it all twice and still find out new tidbits that I missed. Once understood "eureka" - even then there is always room for improvement unless you reach the pinnacle of being a tii guru. it is an elusive goal but at 63, i figure I can give it another 20 years before i give up
have fun - that is what it is all about

FYI, You can get new BMW 2002 belts from Steve at sales@blunttech.com. Tell him Rabbia sent you!
AFAIK, there are three new belts (or NOS belts) available. Old style US only Repas (if they are still available), new style Repas and new style Autoflugs/AFG (for both Euro and US markets). These were made in late 90s and in 2000s. The new style Repa and AFG belts look identical and in fact interchangeable (male and female buckles are identical operationally) they are similar to E30 belts with longer female buckles bolted on the tunnel.
If you find BMW belts too expensive, PM me I have other options.
nice post - bluedevils is being discreetly nice saying to PM him - he does an excellent job refurbishing our old belts!

fun to watch - thanks for the link

356's are worth anywhere from 40 to 150k - when our cars get into that range we may be thinking twice about the effects of "upgrades" to our cars. Until then - have fun

74tii with 5 speed, power windows, power steering, euro bumpers and a great stereo - yahoo - I love it

wicker is very expensive =

I hate overspray on anything - with that said, whatever is left that hasn't been removed point out to your body shop that it is not to be painted. My pet peeve is the windshiled wiper motor - so many of them are sprayed body color, it makes me cringe
good luck, you have a great project which is well on its way!

either parts are getting cheaper or margins are getting thinner. hopefully those that supply us with parts can continue to make a profit and not go out of business

if I recall it was approx $1800. It has been almost 2 years since I purchased it. As stated above, I couldn't armstrong my car at the time of order so it was either letting it sit or having a driver.

I went through American Powertrain
http://americanpowertrain.com/search.html?q=power+steering&go=Search
it took many weeks for it to arrive but the kit was complete - the splines needed a light sanding to fit other than that it was a cook-book process

hey - I said don't shoot -
I also drive a bone stock 46 Willys jeep - I am 63 years old and grew up in the golden age of cars. I get cars and I get simple upgrades that are easily reversable. I spin my own wrenches - and find that listening to Jerry Garcia while cruising is very satisfying
-
hmm - OK full disclosure.
I also have a nice stereo system and power windows - phew, I feel better now
I love my upgrades - each one is easily reversable and totally enjoyable
everything else is stock - well I did do a big bumper conversion too
this winter will be an O2 sensor
The EZpower steering is controlled by a simple turn of a knob from zero impact to full power steering - kinda neat

OK - don't shoot
I have one in my tii. It was a bit of a pain to install but not overly so. The size of the motor on the steering column makes getting the dash underpads bulge a little. My first reaction after installing it was - that wasn't worth the effort. Now that I have lived with it for a year, I am very happy. I do not have AC so I can't really answer your specific question about fitting or not.
I ordered the unit when I was having severe back issues and steering was very difficult - thankfully back issues are resolved but as stated above, I am very happy I did it

great job, that was fun to watch - what are you using for a tranny and diff?

I think the question was not about the charger or where it was used before but whether or not he can plug his charger into his 02 lighter socket to charge like he did on his Porsche. Most of what I have read seems to indicate that it is best to disconnect the positive battery cable when charging the battery - therefore the answer would be no. On the other hand, I have no idea why it wouldn't work if the lighter is hot with the ignition off.

What's your second (non-2002) classic car?

46 Willys Jeep - CJ2A. Fully restored about 10 years ago - use it to plow snow and play with in the summer. A great ride
