    Is it required or recommended to use the spacer between the carb (Weber) and the intake manifold? I have seen pics with and without. Mine is cracked and was going to replace it until I saw a pic of an engine on ebay without one. thanks

    i had mine replaced through my insurance for being cracked. a local glass co. did the work and they replaced with new original Sigla glass with the BMW logo on it. so i imagine it can be ordered through your local BMW dealer and they won't charge xtra for shipping.

    a couple weeks or so after you drove mine i had to order a guibo. that took a week. so by the time i got it replaced it was 4 weeks of daily driving and it got pretty bad. so bad that my mechanic had to custom weld the end of my drive shaft because it beat the hell out of the drive shaft flange. so where as you may have a different problem i just wanted to let you know how bad mine was. one way i figured that the vibration was solely from that was if i was driving at any speed i put it in neutral to stop drive shaft movement and the vibe stopped.

    could it be that it just feels like there is a problem besides the guibo? i know when mine was going out it felt (actually it was shredded to bits) as if there was an engine problem (missing) when accelerating. replaced and all was good.[/b]

    the blue hose goes back to the evaporator canister in the trunk. my carbon filter is removed and the blue hose is still there. i'd leave the blue hose so that your trunk doesn't get all fume-y.

    it's the kinda rubber-ish feeling gasket. i didn't think so but wanted to double check. it seems awlfully dark and kinda burnt in there. what about cleaning inside the head? like any kinda spray stuff or just leave it be? thx esty

    happens all the time. i've had people follow me for miles until i stop and inquire about the car or ask if i want to sell it. i even had someone follow me and navigate to all sides of the car taking pictures while going down the freeway (not too keen on that but i'll take it as a compliment).
