I like the subtleness of the whole thing. A real sleeper.... :-P

Looks nice mate!
Top work... looking forward to seeing it all complete.

Carbs and power=NASCAR 800 + HP no EFI
Yeah, but they go around in circles, as soon as you stop suddenly, you lose vaccum pressure, etc.
Tune a nascar engine with individual throttle bodies, I bet it makes more power and is far more user friendly. Australian V8 Supercars went EFI back when dinosaurs were roaming and they aren't looking back...
There is also an S14 carburettored car in Australia as well if the rumours are true.

I should be mate... give me some notice and I can arrange anything!
-
Nice one mate! It all must be getting very exciting!!
Keep up the good work, looking forward to catching up with you soon for a spin!
May 26th too soon?

BMW's a BMW and Mini is a Mini just because BMW owns Mini doesn't give the Mini owners the right to be in a show with BMW's unless it has a separate event for non BMW's.
Ooookaaayyyy.
Maybe the organisers promoted the show through their forum which has a section for MINI's on it? Then dedicated a small area for the car at the show...
I grew up in a household where my parents promoted automotive events for a living. I was constantly involved in promotion of the show to perspective members of the public, car clubs, etc.
You want to make something as big and best as possible, so if you have a willing participant to attend the show in very neat cars - which there are some AWESOME MINI's in the US - why discourage an entrant?
In the end the cars make the show, so the more the merrier I say.
-
I think we should be encouraging people to sign up as members to contribute. That would save a whole lot of time and energy.
-
When I realized the car was nice and won an event, I made a personal decision to not take the car back to an event where it won. It just did not make sense to me to show up and win year after year. As my boyz said, "it would just make you look like a tool bag dad!" I do not think tool bag is a term of endearment.
That's a shame... I'm sure there are a stack of people that would love to see the car still who have not already. Cant you take it along and say "No prizes thank you."?

You can get the shiits all you like, but I think they have some place there. I dunno, I just think cars like this are probably not 100% BMW, but they add another dimension to the show and allow you something else to look at.
Did you get the shiits at the Rolls Royce 's too?
The new MINI was built using may of the same philosophies from the '02 model.

Coool. Here I was thinking you were up to something far more sinister! :-P

There is one in my blog as well...

Hows Macca's work treating you Todd!?
-
So if that beast is wearing Panasports... what's on the Colorado?
-
There are two very nice Tiaga cars in Oz... one of them - a 1974 Tii was featured in PBMW magazine a while ago - belongs to one of the blokes in the 02 register. It's a very nice little car!
-
Nice work! It looks like yet another spectacular Polaris car is bound for the road!
-
Thats JDM dawg!
-
WOW! That black one is also one of my favorites! It used to appear on the banner for the Tii register. I saved it, but it is very small. So your rims are genuine Alpina's with no centre caps?
-
My painter did the no lead formula too.

A couple more shots of the car, It rains almost every day in Malaysia normally late afternoon, so timing of practice/qual. or race is critical, note the racing will not stop because of rain.
Wet tyres are a must we use grooved Dunlop slicks, for the Aussie racers check out Stucky tyres in Melbourne, they supply and there are no better.
Yes Nick still the S14 with KF. 265 close ratio box and the 3.9 diff for this track.
Great pics... I love this car! You should organise it to come to Australia for the Philip Island historics next year in late Feb/early March! It's Stuckey Tyres btw. They help out a number of Aussie competitiors and from all reports, their service is top notch.
-
Very sweet... A JFK Lincoln is what they are known as here... I love the bad ass suicide doors on the rear.
watch the first 20 seconds... not the exact same model, but you get the idea. -
I got the painter to use the PPG formula for Polaris Neu 060 metallic.
After much deliberation, he did. The paint is everything that you describe - yellow hues, fine metallic... they tried their hardest to get me to jazz it up with a deeper metallic, but I wasnt having a bar of it.
A local bloke has an original Polaris car in his drive and I popped over to see the paint color - I am happy with my color and how similar it is.
You are painting the whole car yeah? Just trust the formula if there is no blend to be done.

RESETTING OIL SERVICE INDICATOR:
If your OBC needs to be reset after completing your oil change, there are two ways. NOTE: If you miss a step, just turn the key back off and try again:
A. Model Year 1999 to Mid-2000: You should have the older round 20-pin DLC connector under your hood behind the battery terminal, you need to use a small length of wire to connect (short) pins 7 and 19 for 3-5 seconds with the ignition key in position 1 (Accessory).
B. After Mid-2000: You should not have the 20-pin DLC connector. You only need to hold the left odometer reset button while turning the key to position 1 (Accessory). Keep holding the button for 5 or so seconds until any of the following shows in the display: OIL SERVICE or INSPECTION with RESET or RE. Release the button and press it again for another 5 or so seconds until RESET or RE flash. While the display flashes, press the button one more time briefly. If done correctly, END SIA should show up for a few seconds. All done.

thanks guys,. ive shipped 50 sets of beltline all over the world, even to AU and japan and never had 1 damaged piece. ive had more damaged from the dealer that i had to send back though. you have to check each piece. email me coop. this stuff keeps going up but i have it cheaper than you can get anywhere.
I was lucky enough to get a set from Blunt sent to Australia - never to be repeated unfortunately... He is the man.
