Hahahaha! Their first real test in ages is over the next few games to come... I foresee a Premiership... I just thought the same thing in 1989, and all the other recent 'couldabeens' etc.

Nice work mate! The car looks sensational... The BBS really set it off. It has been a real pleasure to see this car come together.

Fuck off you stupid spammer!
Oh yeah, this project has not progressed at all... I am busy with work!

I dont give a fuck what they call it, they could call it a "two zero zero two", an "'02", "Old BMW"... it is just nice to see that the old girl is getting a bit of media attention again. Not bad for a 4 year old design.
Bangle... what an idiot... only designed some of the greatest mass produced cars of all time... the MINI Cooper, the E46 M3...
Bangel has done some odd things, but I like most of them because they are a different approach. I am a bimmer fan boy of the highest order. If you want "boring, mundane German", go and buy an Audi. If you want a "neo-classic retro, modern German" buy a Mercedes.
Bangel is blamed for all the bad things, but forget the fact that BMW were dropping their market share prior to his arrival and they are now experiencing positive growth in sales. BMW board need their head read for hiring him, hey!?! (/sarcasm)

While we are talking to Brad... have you seen the AFL ladder!?! All smiles down here!!!!! Hahahahaa
-
If you are sending it down here, send it to Howard Instruments, they are VDO instrument experts and I plan on having them breath some new life into my guages when I can afford it...
-
Welcome! I am in your neck of the woods also. Good luck with the project.
-
I got a roll from Blunt earlier in the year... glad I did now!!! I can see it, it sits on the cabinet along side my bed... next to my Massive brake kit.
-
Good to see you over here as well! This is where the real 02 nuts are!
-
Hahahaha, I like that Blunt's service as well. Its been a while since we've done business.
I will think of what I need and get back to you.
I'm thinking a LHS flag mirror... maybe a few other odd and ends... I will send you an email.

Hey JP, can you give me an idea on I few things. I was wondering what you have done for the diff? I notice that on the dash, it looks like you have a 4 speed decal for the shift pattern on the dash, what gearbox is in the car?
I love the car!

what'st he price in australia compared to the mini?
we dont have any of the 1's in the US, so I'm not sure what they will sell for, people are guessing 30 without options, 35 loaded
mini cooper S are 22 without options I believe
I have my order ready to drop off on the mini cooper s, all the sport/performance options, nothin else, they are sooo fun to drive
In Australia the bottom of the line 1 series (116i 5 door hatch) which has been for sale for 3 or so years sells for around the cost of a standard Cooper or AU$35,000... or around US$29500 (plus on road costs) then they have the 130i 5 door hatch that sells for AU$65,000 which has the M kit standard and is very loaded... or around US$55,000.
We pay a great deal of taxes, import duties and tariffs for cars that are not produced in Australia to keep the Aussie made cars competitive in the local market.
For example a Golf GTI is a AU$40,000 car (US$34,000)
A Mini Cooper S is a $42,000 car (US$35,000)
I would expect the 135 coupe to sell for some where around AU$85,000 (US$72,000) but we will not have to add any options besides sunroof and 19" rims for it to be fully loaded. Our market for cars works slightly different with Aussie spec'ed cars coming in with far more standard features than say the US or UK market to justify consumers paying their very high prices.
If we think our car prices are expensive, the price of cars in Singapore is like 4 times higher again!
For someone to have a Saleen Mustang or a Corvette Z06 over here, you are talking AU$150,000 and AU$250,000 respectively.
-
Follow your heart. There is a sizable difference in price in Australia between the two, but far out the 135 would be good fun!

I decided to stay dry and stay at home... listening to the radio, it sounds like it will be another great day for a Geelong supporter.
I meant to tell you about the Territory Turbo I saw leave Ford opposite Norlane Hotel the other day... hahaha! They were into it!
-
Nice to catch up Mark! I hope the boys are feeling better now.
-
What a great morning... very inspring to get my ass into gear and get my car back on the road (we have heard that before though :-P)
Thanks to Doug for letting me ride shotgun from Lorne to Geelong, great fun and the car really went nicely through the bends!
Interesting fact, there was 3 Fjord's and 3 Chamonix's.
Look forward to another drive soon!
