  1. The link did not work for me. Do you have a new link to the torque specs?
  2. I use State Farm which also insures my other cars and real estate. Only about $15.00/month in my area and I have better limits and access to my umbrella coverage through State Farm.
  3. Thanks! Everything arrived as promised and in good condition.
  4. Assembly is good, the lense is broken.
  5. Not mine, no affiliation, no first-hand knowledge. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ank/ctd/2851664474.html
  6. LimeySteve summed it up for me as well. I like the color, but I generally prefer the trim on these cars. It breaks up the paint and adds some contrast and definition. Personally, I have never liked flares. But it is a good looking car and hopefully a good running car. Just need to find the right buyer who appreciates the look you have created.
  7. Trying to get a general sense of the range of cost for bodywork and paint as well as interior restoration. I know these are general questions and there are lots of variables. Assume usual rust areas for a 2002. Front valance, some surface stuff, wheel wells. Shock towers and fuel cell are good. Strip to metal and paint. Interior. New carpet and upholstery. Not looking for exact numbers, but ball park figures, perhaps based upon work people have had done recently. Thanks for any comments.
  8. All this blather, but still no pictures of this "barn" find?

    X5 Board

A friend has an X5 and is looking for some web boards with good information. Any suggestions of good ones?
  10. Please just leave it alone. Or sell the car to me. Cutting into a 40 year old car to add a sunroof is just a bad idea in my opinion. If you want one with a sunroof, go buy one with a sunroof.
  11. There are discussions in Minnesota about taxing based upon miles driven. With the increasing prevalence of alternative fuel vehicles, the Dept of Transportation foresees losing out on millions of dollars in revenue used to rebuild infrastructure as more and more cars avoid the gas pump all together. There is a test starting here where devices are being fitted to cars to track mileage and other usage patterns.
  12. Nice looking car. Looks like Malaga over Nevada.
  13. Thanks for the insights. I agree that for near $20,000 the car should be in the major areas close to great or excellent shape. If the dollars are spent on substantive things...engine, drive train, suspension etc... and those are done well, I can overlook some cosmetics. But there are some weird things about this car.
  14. I saw the snorkel as well as the odd wrinkles in the fender. Also the doors do not seem to sit correctly. Thanks.

  17. Hence the need for the S14 motor!!
  18. Go to the links section for links to tons of sellers websites.
  19. Well, a raffle at $5 or $10 per ticket with the proceeds to benefit the FAQ or some other causes would be cool. Does the car run? If so, I will by a few tickets!
  20. With the exception of the AMT problem, a home equity line is probably the way to go. Bank has a secured loan and you can write off the interest. Nobody is going to loan money of the dollars we are discussing if the end result is going to be a much lower total value. Although depending upon your income, you might be able to get an unsecured loan for a large amount.
