engine and drivetrain To insulate or not to insulate? [Firewall insulation board]

I'm contemplating whether or not to buy and install the firewall insulation board when I get around to repainting my engine bay. Any thoughts?

Post pictures of nice engine bays with and without the board.

Pretty tempting, particularly on the left (exhaust) side; but might this not also be accomplished, and somewhat more easily, but installing installation on the firewall inside the car?

I ran without one for years. Cabin temps were hotter. It actually does cut down heat in the cabin when its installed.

I put one back in when I repainted it

It actually cleans things up to use it as well... brake lines and the hold tabs are sorta hidden when its installed.

defenitively worth it. both for the nice look and it does its job well too to reduce noise.

here is the pictures of mine on my automatic 74'.

i bought it from Blunt. note that it was not the 100% fit on my automatic firewall, i still have the old original one, it is significantly different, and it is also 100% off different from 75-76 cars.

but i made it fit.
