Bruce,

Get an estimate to have the regular gears made, I'd be interested in getting a couple sets. I think I know where I can get a CR box, the Big question is how much. If I remember correctly the guys box has a bad spot in it but that should be repairable in the CAD process or with modeling. I'll give him a call tomorrow.

Jason, guys,

This afternoon I took a little time to get things started, I took one of my own Stock Steering Boxes and took it apart, contacted some of my friends and got in touch with the shop that will replicate the parts to get an estimate.

Here are the pics of the dissembled box (after a dishwasher über cleaning process)...

Next week I'll go and get them quoted...

Funny, I pulled a junker apart today, too.

I don't mean to pee in anyone's wheaties, but DAMN that is a complicated

shape for the screw... getting it right AND hard enough is not going to

be trivial.

'Hardened and ground' indeed.

Good luck- I hope you can get it to work...

Strangely, I *may* have access to a scanner and printer... at our company's technology center. I remember seeing the 3D printer there.

I don't know if I can get into the city next week to confirm if they have gotten the 3D scanner or not.

So I am not promising anything, but we are not out of options yet.
