What I though was the clutch hydraulics

ends up being a bad clutch. I'm running a JB Racing flywheel on the 72 with the 228mm clutch and od 5. A couple weeks ago it was pointed out that if there is no step on the FW the clutch will not last. Sad, but true apparently. You can see where the release arm has been riding the perimiter of the clutch.

Screw the JB. Putting on a new stock fw and a new Sachs complete and we'll see how things go.

With a stock flywheel and stock clutch you wont have any issues.

Thought it almost sounds as if the release bearing broke. The arm should not be in contact with the flywheel.. step or not.

The price to pay sometimes for an aftermarket go-faster piece.

You may want to consider painting the flywheel so you can see that elusive ball when you time it.

So the JB unit for the 02 does not have the step? I wonder why?
