Is this my fuel tank vent hose?

In the pic below, I've got two hoses coming out of the firewall side-by-side. The top one's the fuel line. Is the other one the fuel tank vent hose that used to go into a charcoal cannister? If so, shouldn't it be UN-plugged, not plugged with a bolt as it is now?

ran a quick search, and I am wondering the same thing. Is this the fuel tank vent tube? where SHOULD it be attached? To the air filter to burn any fumes?

That appears to be the fuel tank return line that was used in conjunction with the EVAP system when the cars were smogged. I'm assuming you both have a weber 32/36?

yes, 32/36 - so this can go away? or route to somewhere? mine is just hanging around, not plugged - no ill effects, and I don't smell gas (at least not any more than usual!)

Get rid of the KNN also... The stock air cleaner provides resonance qualities that a KNN cannot replicate. In essence the stock air cleaner is able to pulse the flow of air into the intake thereby providing a little extra power that you will lose with the KNN. That is why the cleaner is so large and oddly shaped- those engineers thought of everything!

Do you really want to create vacuum in your gas tank by attaching it to the air cleaner? If the tank is full and you are driving like the car should be driven, could you not potentially pull gas into the air cleaner? I vented mine to atmosphere out of the trunk.
