Advice Needed!

Okay, so I'm in my 20's without a ton of experience with 02's. I learn a lot from this forum and I'm hoping you guys can tell what you think of these pics?

Just wanting to see if this is normal. I've seen others in the past that are super clean.

as long as there is no chocalate milk shake (oil and water), you should be ok. I have seen superclean ones that run bad and filthy ones that run good.

Got it...from the pics looks normal. Some oil, specifically dino, will leave a slight staining (for lack of a better term). What you do not want to see is a sludgy buildup that is usually evidence of infrequent oil and filter changes or the use of older motor oil formulations. (As indicated in an earlier post about the changing amount of ZDDP additive.)

just looks oil stained like they can do, most of the super clean ones youve seen have being rebuilt (acid dipped) Just keep those oil changes up and be sure to change the filter whenever you do the oil.

While you're in there, check the rocker arm eccentric hole used to adjust the valve clearance. If the holes are rotated and almost out of sight, then your engine is a high mileage one that may need rebuilding.

More points to ponder:

1) Compression test (try when warm).

2) Leak-down test

3) Check the springs that "load" the rocker arms side-to-side.
