ok guys a little more progress, I moved the engine back one inch and finished the trans crossmember. I had a junk e21 radiatior laying around that looks like it will work perfectly. I also redrilled the holes for the e21 rack to mount to the steering arms. I measured and e21 and drilled my holes at about 4 7/8" so the turning speed and circle should be better.

some pics of the crossmember, its just tacked I need to finish tig welding. Got lucky on one thing, heater hoses line right up.

One thing lucky out of 100, not bad

Im dying to get this thing running but I still have a ton of money to spend on this sucker.

I've got the engine set back and down as far as I can, so I can't wait to see how the weight distribution is.

Any one with more rearend opinions. I want to actually drive this thing sometime in my life. I see the touring turbo with 350rwhp running an e21 lsd. I think the e21 rearend may be strong enough (maybe) because I only have 205 rear tires and the light weight of the car (no traction) so they will just spin. I don't plan on putting on slicks but do plan on spinning a tire here and there.

For the price of the e21 lsd vs. custom rear end I could go through a few of them and still have it be cheaper.

Let me know what you guys think, all opinions are appreciated.

If i was in America i would go for the E21 LSD. The main reason im not is because they are $800+ each by the time you get them to Australia (and i calculated that price at a favorable exchange rate - now, it's probably at the 1k mark). Basically an expensive excersize if even one e21 LSD diff lunched itself.

How about entire e30 rear subframe and diff? the LSD's are cheaper than e21's, and you have some nice gearing options. You already have the flare width to tuck it under. A bit of welding and you're golden.

And the diff's are twice as heavy as e21's you so it helps get to 50/50 weight balance :)

This is what i will be doing on my project , just got the entire e30 back end of a 325 for £100 which i dont think is to bad

Damn thats a shame. At least we saw the "S2002" (Honda S2000 motor car) to the end...
