1972 2002 Tii/Zender kit.

I've posted a couple of pictures in other posts but thought I'd start a proper thread.

This is how I saw it on Ebay:

Looking very sorry for itself indeed.

This is after I spent a day driving there and back to get some wheels put on it as no one would collect it without wheels:

And today I was quite excited when it was delivered to my house:

I'll take some better pictures and give it a good wash and brush up and look over tomorrow.

I was busy today killing this Tii instead:

Nice rotted through rear corner covered in "bondo" as you call it. Some bits are mint, the spare wheel well was replaced but the underneath is just rotted out from front to back.

It's a wonder the engine is still in it...

To finish chopping up the rotten brown one saving anything I can from it to use on the blue one for a start. :-)

When Business Post get their act together and delivery the service bits I ordered last week I'm going to have a go at getting the blue one started and running.

I learnt my lesson with past wrecks (Vw's) fiddling around the edges so first job is to get it running then worry about the rest later while I have the engine/parts from the scrap one to use to refurb/reuse.

And give it a good washing. Lol.

Managed to get a few minutes sunshine to do some work on my 2002's.

Lots of rust on the floor from my parts Tii:

Gave my blue Tii a quick wash to make it look a bit less mossy:

Then decided to poke under the bonnets:

Spot the newbie in me realising something wasn't quite right...
