steve, i'm assuming this is a trick question

Max's website show's them at a M10 x 60

p/n 07119921502

No, he is asking about the 4 bolts (two short, two long), that bolt the diff vertically to the subframe. Your part number is for the two bolts that go through the diff hanger to the brackets on the underbody of the car.

gee kris, for as long as it took you to type the above you could have relayed the following info;

2ea M12x1,5x140 p/n 07119914690

2ea M12x1,5x120 p/n 07119914677

4ea M12x1,5 self locking nut p/n 07129900047

4ea flat washer for under the bolt head (not under the nut)

max's website lists the hex-head bolts as NLA

the nuts are listed at $0.63ea

the washers are listed at $0.71ea

my local ace hardware has started to carry larger bolts/hex head cap screws like these FWIW - maybe i can ship you a part? :)

BTW - Max's website lists the ...4677 bolt as 4ea per rear axle assembly, but the other two must be used somewhere else

He was actually posting for some bolts I needed...good guy that Blunt is...

Problem is that 140 and 120mm are way long...I tested a 90mm M12 bolt (from the trailing arm/subframe connection) in the long position and it worked fine, but I can't see using anything longer. The short position needs something shorter...maybe 70 or 60mm. I'm with you, worst case, I will go to the local hardware store and buy 50-90mm for my "stock" and be done with it.

Thanks

my local ace hardware even has different class bolts - 8.8 and 10.9

i would think 8.8's are fine

if you likfe, my rear subframe is out and the dif bolts are in a baggie. I can measure them if you want and post ina couple of hours

The M12x90 bolts are still available, get them from BMW, not the hardware store.

The online parts catalog is full of errors on these, the ETK disc has problems too.

The M12x140 and M12x120 bolts are for 2002 only up to mid-1969.

The part number posted above for the M12x120 is actually the correct part number for the M12x90, which is the same bolt used for the trailing arm pickup points.

Here's what I think is correct, as these are the current p/n superceded from what's shown in the original hard copy parts book sheet 33/27.

07 11 9 914 667 M12x90 $1.55 ea (2 for diff; 4 for trailing arms)

07 11 9 913 718 M12x45 $0.60 ea (2 for diff) these are NLA

Try a substitute BMW bolt in place of the NLA part

Actually, I did mess up saying the short bolt is still available, it appears it went NLA some time ago.

However, BMW has a lot of fasteners to pick from, and there are a couple possible substitutes.

07 11 9 913 905 M12x45 $1.10 (Gearbox mounting bolt for various models)

07 11 9 914 631 M12x50 $1.10 (Diff bracket bolt for M5)

Best way to find substitute bolts is to use the "STANDARD PARTS" selection on the ETK, then click on HEX BOLTS and it shows a long list with sizes & numbers.

good Gawd-

I just dig around in the 12mm bolt can until I find 4 that are the right length.

Sometimes I wipe the worst of the grease off...

then find the thickest 12mm

washers in the washer can,

some not- too- buggered locking nuts in the nutcase,

and have at it with my impact wrench!

heh...

Just kidding! Well, about the impact wrench...
