..and not all of it either. gotta figure out a way to drill holes in my frp hood safely. I picked up the trim from junkyards and was donated a piece or two. I bought a small hammer and anvil from Eastwood and a can of clear laquer from Ace hardware. all together, about $40 and patience patience patience. I'll post more pics and details on my blog soon.

Hi Charley, looks really nice - can I ask you what sort of lacquer you used? I have some aluminium parts I'd like to polish up (obviously this would remove the original anodising) but I've always assumed lacquer wouldn't stick to a polished surface...? Cheers, adam

I'm in Anaheim, near Knott's. You should come out to cars and coffee sometime or maybe El Toro on a wednesday night for the local car meetup.

I just used an off the shelf laquer from Ace. I'd actually try something specifically for trim from Eastwood or somewhere next time as the laquer did seem to add a grayish haze. Also, the trim isn't polished, it's rough sanded.. I wanted to try a brushed aluminum finish.

Pete - Japan was awesome! but I actually got the frame from the only Autobacs in the US (which is about 4 miles away). I saw one in Yokohama, but didn't get to go :(
