I just bought a 2002 sight unseen that has rear fender lips custom made from body filler !! If i fitted turbo flares from IE,how much could i cut out of the metal/filler fenders ???

Also does anyone have a link to a blog that shows cutting/welding the rear 1/4s as described above ??

Thanks,Mal.

start cutting the bondo OFF till the rear looks

like an Original Turbo cut- - get down to original METAL.

That bondo will eventually fall off and reveal tru

uglyness if left alone. Your in for a HUGE project.

Do a search for the body cutting - there have been past threads

showing great detail of just what your asking for.

this is a turbo shell from a euro site.

AND as mentioned just in the past days - find out how the mechanicals

stand BEFORE you waste energy with bondo removal.

Drive the car a few hundred miles to acess every mechanical

system - add up that damage - then think about the cosmetic

dreams.

i did my install pretty much the same way as described on the 02turbo link above.

here's a pic of where i drew the lines in to cut. the top black line is the outline of where the edge of the flare went. the lower black line with where i cut into the quarter panel. you need to be sure to leave yourself enough room so the flare can fit up against the bodywork securely.
