I found the MSDS online, and it says:

PALE OIL 40-60%

NAPHTHA 25-35%

IPA 10-20%

Not very descriptive, but seems pretty simple. Wonder if thats India Pale Ale in it...

I use chevron Techron already and it's great.

thought i might run it through my 1600 engine before i take it out and park it up, i don't like to put things away dirty.

marvel mystery oil will suffice if it's available where you live

I have a 91 scubadude and all the press seems to think that "Sticking Valves" are the issue, some say liter of diesel, others trans fluid in crank case, more say techron....

Is there an honest to goodness answer?

The "CarTalk" boys on NPR were promoting "the time honored" trick of running plain old water through the engine to remove carbon build up. They also specifically mention the amount of smoke and neighbor relations. I am sure the truth is out there...

They put the Naptha in there to keep me from drinking the India Pale Ale
