There has been progress but i'll update properly when i have time, this here is some creativity due to my lack of planning ahead. I degreased the car before removing the engine and sub to realise that once the engine was removed there was still a lot of dirt/grease, and with no sub it made for hard moving.

So i came up with this, an indoor car wash. Worked a treat!

dont worry about the electricity...

there is a lot more water in there than you think, so much so that i couldn't lift the plastic.

UPDATE.

Anyway its been a busy few weeks. Basically just stripped the car. Just got the headliner and scripting left, but annoyingly i left organising the painters pretty late and the bloke said he'll fit me in start of next year.

So i'll be mad busy trying to get everything ready to bolt back onto the car before it comes back at the end of Jan.

bonnet and boot still on for space reasons

CIMG2949.jpg

empty engine bay, except for that damn speedo, still cant get it out!!

CIMG2944.jpg

CIMG2943.jpg

the car is amazingly dusty, not sure how to clean it all out

CIMG2948.jpg

the dreaded foot well, not too bad, just a little surface rust.

CIMG2946.jpg

clean wheel well

CIMG2947.jpg

got to love that rear end

CIMG2950.jpg

it wouldn't be an 02 with out some proper rust, hopefully not too bad

its like a nut on the inside of the boot, little confusing but you will get it just inspect it and twist it and you should get it.

yeah tried that with no luck, unfortunately there had been very few nuts that have wanted to come off due to all the dust this car has seen, i'll just keep spraying it and twisting.

Hey mate, howd you go with the headliner?

Neither myself nor Bill can remember exactly but with those press in metal clip things, i think we pinched them with some long nose pliers but it might be better if you post up on the forum and see if you get any hits.

Cheers,

Tom

did a bit of work today:

CIMG2952.jpg

with summer coming i thought i'd invest in some air con

CIMG2953.jpg

wool is a good insulator so that should keep the cold air in the car

CIMG2962.jpg

worked ok, not great

CIMG2960.jpg

hand cleaned the interior, took lots of dirty water and time.

CIMG2979.jpg

finally worked out how to get this thing out.

bmw_1006blkfawn.jpg

thinking about getting this colour as my interior, i would like the white/gray bits to be fewer, but something along these lines would be good, black with a hint of something.
