Awesome New M3 - Official

Recommended Posts

real m3s have 4 cylinders

:)

the designers of the new M3 agree! Twice! :P

i hope it does not weigh 3500lbs, that would be disgusting. a freakin viper weighs 3300lbs and it is basically all boxed truck frame under the skin, tractor motor included.

EDIT: WOW!! 1,655 kilograms = 3 648.65044 pounds :(((((

Where did you get 1655kg from?

heres one place:

http://www.worldcarfans.com/news.cfm/newsID/2070405.010/page/3/country/gcf/lang/eng/bmw/new-bmw-m3-officially-revealed

notice in the promotion materials they only talk about power to weight ratio, not the weight of the car, which is frankly embarassing! =p

edit: interesting that the new v8 isnt directly the cause of weight gain, as it is actually 33-36lbs (depending on whom you ask) lighter than the I-6 in the old e46m3....

that is truly crap - a lot of weight in European cars is a result of new safety legislation, but that must be able to shed a ton if/when they bring out a CSL version.

Makes that CF roof about as laughable as CF trim on a dashboard. Probably save more weight by not loading the CD stacker.
