Assembling a new Long Console kit

The shift cover goes on last, assembled console is set in place and secured with a screw through front metal bracket and rear L bracket.

Then shift cover can be placed and secured with 4 screws from the outside.

The screws are supposed to go into tinnerman screw clips, not just screwed into the plastic.

Damn I should have checked with Forrest... didnt know he made a vid for this. He did forget to anchor it on top using the elbow bracket.

Also thats for showing me the screw clips my kit didnt come with those.

Leave the shift surround off, install and secure the console, then install the shift surround.  That's I install mine, it's the only way to access the hold down screw in the strap.

I’m glad mine is an early one with a short console , much easier
