E30 front hubs

Pulling this out of the 5 lug thread for clarity.  And for Ian.

I personally haven't had much trouble with knockback, but especially with standard struts,

the front bearings are kind of high maintenance.

Somehow, my E30 and 2002 projects and problems haven't overlapped enough to

look at this, but the sealed E30 hub would be a potential way to get away from

the stock bearings.  The hubs are plenty durable on the E30, so there's that.

I'm GUESSING that the spacing is wrong- as in, the flange will stick out too

far for the brake/wheel mounting surface, but I've never looked.  If no- one else

has, I'll go digging through the parts piles in the next few days and see if it's even

feasible.  It's snowing now, so I have other things to do

(like sit by the fire and surf the interwebs) but it's a neat idea.

And it may be a way to increase front track (illegally for racey cars) to get those

10" tires in the right place.

t

would convert to 5 lugs right after installing that Ford Modular V10...

...which is to say, about never.
