printed control descriptions on dash

Has anyone removed the white type descriptions for the controls on the dash, i.e. "lights", "liighter", etc.?

I'm not sure if anyone did it intentionally, but I had the misfortune of lightening a few letter using Armor All back in the 80s. Lacquer thinner or acetone will probably take it off.

I'd be careful with both of those.  They might dull the black dash or worse.  Try in a hidden spot first.  

 

I'd try paint stripper with a tiny brush.  Might just lift the paint and have no effect on the vinyl.
