    Okay, I checked out the fuel tank, the wires were both very loose, but on the leads. There was fuel around the cap, not sure if it was affecting the leads with a short maybe? I pulled them off and cleaned the leads and wiped up the fuel, but now the car won't even start? Thanks for all the help guys.

    My fuel gauge started bouncing while driving. At a full stop is rests at correct level?

    I have a 1969, but a 1991 318is engine replaced the carb 4 cylinder. I have now had trouble starting twice, I used starting fluid with success the first time, this time it just cranks and does not start. Do you think I am looking at a fuel pump problem? Thanks

    I rechecked everything and then of all things used some starting fluid to troubleshoot and it fired right up... dumb ass...

    I have a 1969 2002, i removed the gauge cluster and replaced it with a 73’ and it would not start. All the connections looked the same? I then put the 69’ cluster back in and it still won’t start? thanks for any help
