FS: 121 Cylinder Head from ‘72 Tii

The only point here with which I’d quibble is the intake valve size. I believe the 46mm versus 44mm difference is a function of time, not model. Injected and carbed cars got the 46mm-intake 121 heads. Find a late 1971 or early 1972 carb head — fuel pump boss fully drilled — and it will have 46mm valves. Thus, there are early 121 heads (44mm) and late 121 heads (46mm). When did the changeover occur? I don’t know. E12 heads, of course, were all 46mm, and they superseded the 121 heads during the 1972 model year.

Regards,

Steve

As always good points!

I can get a set of 121 pistons 10:1 compression for about $500.

e12 9.5:1 pistons cost about $1000 and the block will have to be sleeved.

E12 is a better head than 121 but the pistons are slightly lower in compression so it’s a close call.
