Why does my 74 have a vacuum advanced distributor

Good day,

 

Followed all advice and got it running pretty well.  Front suspension broke while test driving and wiped out the front fender.   A lot of damage.   Will most likely sell the car for parts as I can't afford all of the body work.

Maybe this is a project someone here is willing to take on as a complete car, rather than parts...

I hear ya. I have a year and a half in it. New tires,exhaust,fuel pump, etc. went through brakes, fuel system,etc. it would be a shame to not have it on the road
