2000 tilux

Recommended Posts

Hi, I usually hang in the -02 section but now I have a special question for NK people. I was on race paddock with my racecar and mentioned to a gentleman that it would be for sale. Well he didn't want to buy it but offered an original condition (whatever it means) -66 2000 tilux for trade. I don't know much about NK's but after talking with couple of pals I got the impression that 2000 tilux is not that highly valued model. Many find it ugly compared to normal round light NK-models and there was quite many of them produced. Do you guys think that's true and in what kind of price range these are (US, Europe?)? What about in relation to other models like 1800, 1800ti, 2000, 2000tii?

At this point I dont know much more about it.

Below is a picture of the car. I wonder what the wheels are? Looks too modern?

Thanks in advance for any information or opinions.

The earlier round head light cars are generally more sought after, but after that the tilux is the one to have (well, the tii, but try finding one). Panels are hard to find and expensive, so as per most old cars rust is key. The twin solex rarely run right, so a switch to webers only adds value in my book (esp if the originals are in the boot). If that's rust-free, mechanically sound and with a clean rip-free interior I'd say anywhere around €10k, probably more, esp in Germany.

I feel the round headlight are unappealing and kinda boring compared to the euro style rectangle lights that give it a more unique flavour. I've owned a couple 2002 and switched to the 2000tilux as i really enjoy the added space. I'm not sure why they are priced so much lower than the 2002 considering they are so rare in good original condition. Granted that some find the design ugly much like the 2000cs but I like the uniqueness of them.

I like the rectangular lights, too.  I was looking for an NK for years before getting my heap, and all along was only interested in the one with the rectangular headlights.  I'm an oddball, I guess.
