WTB: early front and rear bumper brackets, rear shorty bumper ends, rear center Euro bumper with integrated lights, and overrider covers

Hi Folks,

I have a 73 and I wish to tuck the bumpers in  like the older models and am told I will need the older model bumper brackets and the bumper ends for the rear. I also wish to get ride of the bumper overriders in the front and rear for a cleaner look. I'm told there are covers for hiding the bolt that lives under the overriders after removal so looking for those as well. Please educate me if you can or lead me in the right direction if I got something wrong.

Thanks,

Eamon

I'm currently going through the same project converting my 74 to early bumpers...

here's a picture of my early US bumper that I added euro lamps to. I bought the lamps from blunt and just cut my own openings. Just thought I'd share incase you want to keep your rear bumper.

the rear brackets can be bought from blunt, esc and any other bmw parts store. Part # 51125470060

As for losing the over riders, you just need to replace the bolts that hold the bumper pieces together with chrome M8 carriage bolts. Go to a bmw parts store and look at the exploded bumper diagrams, it will give you lengths for each bolt. You can order through them or find cheaper generic chrome M8 carriage bolts online. Some auto parts store may carry them aswell.

You don't need early rear bumper ends. You should use your existing bumpers, but you will have to drill hoes in the fenders and quarter panels.

At this time, all you need to successfully complete the tuck is the front and rear brackets.

Removing the front or rear bumper guards are another project, and will require seam covers in the rear. Contact Ryan McCormack on this forum. I know he has a spare set of rear bumper seams that he would sell to your. His handle is RCM3 on the FAQ.
