WTB: a rust free (do they exist?) roundie to turn into an M2

haha I know. I see something on the passenger door and passenger rear fender that looks like a rust bubble but I'm not sure. 

I asked about suspension and electrical issues he discussed and here is his reply:

"Suspension is really tight.

Lately fuse for the turn signal keep blowing off (which is also connected to brake light) must be simple short, that just need time to track down the wire.
Dashboard light burbs needs to be replace."

Jumping in!

The pic of left wheel house appears to show rust beginning to come through towards the rear bulkhead. Always ask for pics of rockers, trunk floor around tank and spare well, floor pan, frame rails, portion of floor pan around pedal box, lower portion of front nose.

It's Jay from S14. Rust free or almost rust free cars do exist! I'm actually building a '69 1600 that will be an M2 as we speak.

I bought my car pretty local and will have it in for paint pretty soon.

Mlytle's thread is awesome for build info.

I don't assume this makes a difference but the S14B20 will me mated to a Euro dogleg close ratio transmission. Additionally, since a Euro engine, it won't have the bong for O2 sensor. Lastly, it comes with the E30 instrument cluster. Will I be able to drop the cluster in the dash of an 02 or at the very least the gauges or am I to connect the original 02 gauges to the drivetrain? Any info on the topic is appreciated.

The dogleg will require modification of the transmission tunnel. Using a dogleg also so I'm cutting mine out and sectioned. Will fit the tranny and then weld the tunnel back in to accommodate it.

E30 cluster won't drop in but I'm sure it could be made to work. All depends on the build budget.

As long as you have the ecu to correspond with your engine the lack of an o2 sensor won't be an issue unless passing smog tests is an issue for you.

 

I've go the Aardvark "M2" manual around somewhere and would be glad to share the info when I find it.
