Solex 32/36 To Weber Dgas 38 Installation

Recommended Posts

My understanding of the water jacketed manifold is that it offsets the cooling due to the 'atomize-ation' of the fuel.  I learned about this on 'old school VWs' where you often see frost form on the intake manifold.  It makes the fuel puddle on its way to the head, which is a bad thing.  I have a Weber DFEV 32/36 I intend to install on a VW, but the manifold I got with it (used) is the cheaper EMPI version, with limited heating, compared to the better one which is hollow up into the casting... where they use exhaust gasses to warm the intake (air cooled engine/air heated intake).  I know I digress, but having read your screen name, I figured you could relate.   :)

I would suggest keeping the water jacket operational in your 02.  JMHO
