other "97" M3 Parts

I have the opportunity to pick up a 1997 automatic M3 for $2500, wrecked on right side. black interior, runs great, well maintained, mod suspension, air induction and cooling. Can anything be used on a "02"? The front seats may work with some custom mounts but are kinda worn. Is there a market for parting this thing out? I've never delt with a newer Bimmer like these

Well, if you can find a 318ti with a blown engine, the 6 cyl M3 motor will more or less bolt in, as the ti came with a six for the European market.  There used to be one of those running around and it went like a scalded ape...

 

Or, ask Terry Sayther about transmogrifying an E36 M3 into a 2002 (or vice-versa).  It can be done--take a look at the FrankenBimmer pictures on the posting about MidAmerica.

yes grab it. you can get that for motor and tranny if solid.. id sell motor and tranny separate. someone always needs an auto.. m3 specific body parts are money, interior, suspension etc.. but not much at all for your 02. seats are too heavy and look out of place
