Hey guys,

 

I might be selling my 68 1600 hundred soon. was wondering what to ask for it, I don't have any pics on hand. i'll post some later today.

 

here is the gist :

 

1968 early 1600 matching numbers.

 

did the rear axle boots

has euro headlights

euro signals (not installed)

used HD billstiens (not installed)

3 sets of rims 13" stock steelies with hubcaps, 13" newer 2002 steelies with beauty rings, and 13"enkei mesh wheels (apache V) new set of tires mounted on 4 rims, the rest of rims have no tires or roller tires

new thermostat (not installed)

rear fog light (dietz not installed)

new rear brake shoes (not installed)

new rear brake cylinders

 

 

cons :

cracked up dash

slop in the gears

needs new m/c

need new brake pads in front

has rust on the rockers front & rear

towers are good

car runs, drives, starts fine, just doesn't idle will shut off.

car needs major work

interior is shot all around

 

there is a lot more small little extras, some repair books, manuals etc., original dealer lic plate frame, black plate California car, was purchased from the original owner, I have the original pink slip issued back from 1967, extra wing windows....

If you still have the original 1 bbl Solex, bet the idle problem is a clogged idle jet.  Remove jet, squirt carb cleaner thru the orifice where the jet goes and through the opening in the jet itself, then reassemble.  Should take you a couple of minutes tops.  Idle jets are very small and clog easily, especially on a 46 year old car.  Gas tank probably needs a good cleaning/flushing.
