other Factory Repair Manual

[1972-2002]

as i put my car back together how important or helpful is a factory repair manual? i haven' actually seen one so i don't know how complete they are. can anyone comment on them?

 

anyone have one they want to sell?

The factory manual is extremely helpful, but the Haynes manual is more affordable & available.

I have one that I found in the trunk of a parts car I bought. Usually just sits on the shelf and is the last reference I go to during a project. This forum and maybe the Haynes are all you really need.

The factory manual (or the .pdf) should high up there for new owners (along with "02 restoration guide").

 

.pdf can be found in the "FAQ Articles Construction Zone".  I'd link you direct but it's literally right there.

Factory manual contains so much useful information many folks forget it is even in there.  There were updates to later versions.

The factory manuals are a great resource. The old dealer service bulletins are great to thumb through if you have access to them. Haynes is another good one but leaves little things out. Between those items and a seasoned mechanic you should be able to fix anything on your old pride and joy.

I do believe there are a set of blue manuals on eBay right now the buy it now is 250 for the set I think. If I remember correctly he also had an old factory service manual that can be quite useful.
