Hi

I ve been doing some research and the best way to fix a cracked dashboard is by using a dashcap. Previous posts recommend topsonline to find a good dash cap . I could not find one there..

Does anyone have previous experiences fixing dash boards with dash caps? Where can I buy a good one? Does it look good? If someone has pictures please send them.

Thanks

This, and any other answer, will be highly loaded with opinion.  My car had one when it came from the PO and it covered a horribly cracked dash.  I really didn't like the look of the cap as it made the glove box (uncovered) stick out like a sore thumb IMO.

For a while, I simply removed the cap and drove around with the cracked dash.  Eventually, I picked up a good used dash and installed it.

It's just my opinion, but.....  a dash cap is NOT a long term fix.

Have your dash recovered in leather. To me it looks better than stock from the pics I have seen. Gives it a more upscale feel and finishes off the interior. More expensive than a dash cap I'm sure but it will also look better. I'm debating it even though my dash is in excellent condition.

Dash cap installed properly looks great, will last a long time( we had one for 10 years) and is alot cheaper than a recover or finding one that isn't cracked.  If you have the scratch, Just  Dashes recovered my 2000c and is in the process of recovering the dash on my 3.0.  Awesome job.
