So the rebuild is almost done and i am told the car starts fine... But after a few minutes of idle it starts to sputter and die. The gas tank is not empty. I am told the rebuilt warmup regulator has been adjusted.

So close. I am going to read my kf manual and the restoration guide tonight to see if i can lend inspiration.

I think you need to consider this. If the car idles for a few minutes, it is running under the control of the warm-up regulator and that is great! However, if is dies after the warm-up regulator gets out of the equation (the top hat washer clears the lever), then you need to chase other things.

Idle speed - the small screw with locking nut that goes through the tuna can

Linkages - all the correct length

Linkages - adjusted correctly especially at the intermediate shaft

And all things Uncle CD - timing, valve adjustment, etc.

We think linkages are the culprit. Some manufacturing was done but to what level i am unsure. I think idle was adjusted but i will mention it

Update: second hand info, but he has adjusted idle and valves and all of that and linkages were spec. He plans to reverify linkage tolerances in case something came loose.
