Can Someone Help Identify This?

I'm putting my center console back together as the previous owner tore it apart and sold me the car as is.

While in there I noticed this wire, it is held down with a screw to the side of the heater box, the wire is not hooked up to anything, it is just dangling there... can someone help me identify what this is for?

I've only had the car for a week, it is a 1976 2002

Thanks

It's something a previous owner did. Perhaps a bad attempt at a ground for a radio or somesuch. Toss it.

Cheers,

Ray

Stop reading this! Don't you have anything better to do?? :P

Get rid of it.  It's not a good place for a ground and it is the wrong color. Red is for unswitched (constant) positive power. Brown is for ground on these cars (black can be ground on other cars but if you stick with brown there will be no confusion later)

it wasn't hooked up to anything, the cable was just sitting there loose.

It is gone now, it was definitely something the previous owner did.
